The truth Is that In most of the new hats we see. more of it but It is less haughty. I more subtle. How Im portant they are this spring! And what a simple matter It will be for moat women to select a lint that will be becoming to them this sea son something we must admit It was difficult to do for the laat two seasons at least. Brims of the choice typo have been so good for such a long time and many women discovered that they weren't the most flattering ! to their pnrtk-ul.-.r types of beauty.! But this spring we have all sorts! of brims thank Paris! Considerable recognition Is giv en the off-the-face brim In many of the newest French Imports and, of course, tli-'.v have already had a decided influence over the hats that are hHng shown all over the country today. One we saw of this off-the-face type that Is xo youthful and be coming to many faces, was a clev er little model of straw simulating linen with a crown of rose sisal and a brim of the same straw In beige. The crown was crushed and fit the head snugly. Another new brim we noted In m little felt bat was narrow in back and wider In front nnd turned down all the way 'round. Xo woman will consider herself well "hat-fitted" this season unless she has at least one type of straw body hat. If a man is so disposed he can be a bird of gay plumage, for the op-' portunity certainly presents Itself as never before. Almost everything will run to high colors. Shirts will be of gay hues; neckewear promises to be dazzling; Intricate motifs will be shown In hosiery; handkerchiefs will flaunt their colors and so on down the list. With the great vogue for light and bright colored suits and top coats, the furnishing business should be accelerated. Neckband shirts will not to be worn as extensively as In past seasons. Smaller IKsigns In Neckwear Ties will show a tendency to ward smaller designs and figures. all-over patterned English effects. There also will be considerable de mand (and this Is expected to In crease as the season advances) for plain colored neckwear, including ivld shades. Foulards, Judging by their vogue at southern and Cali fornia resorts, will be quite pop ular. Golf hose are going to swing back from the "wild" designs of yore and assume less boisterous lines. Small geometrical motifs and more conservative color combina tions and plain pastel shades 'are expected to be very good. In sweaters round and V-neck .-les will prevail In popular favor. Crew necks and perhaps high necks will bo the preference among the younger men of perfect grooming. The lighter shaker weaves will be liked. White sweat ers will bo smart for sports wear, Straightcr Style In Knickers Knickers seem to be coming In straightcr nnd not so extreme In dimensions. There will be a notable demand for "8het lands."
