C. Bloom of Roeedale, when their daughter, Mary, became the bride of Lowell M, Gardner, Ho v. C. A. Hartley, uncle of the groom and paetor of the First Frteudfl church of Portland, officiated. The rooms wore attractively decorated in keeping with the Christmas 6rtaon and the couple took their places under a beautl ful canopy of tinsel, Christmas bells and greens. The ring cere mony was used. Mrs. Bell BadJoy of Portland played the-wedding march. The brldo was lovely In a gown of white satin back" crepe trimmed In bands of whlto fur. She car ried a shower bouquet of pink rose buds and narcltwl. Following the ceremony re freshments were served. Ices were cut by the Mimes Elizabeth Had ley and Genevieve Badley while Dorla Gardner, Neva Hutchison - and Lei a Cook assisted with tho serving. Prof, and Mrs. Horace Willlston will go to Portland this evening to attend the annual Reed college banquet at the Sign of the Rose. Doth Prof, and Mrs. Willlston are graduates of Reed college. Mrs. Wlilard Seton Kaufman (Ruth Barnes) ot Seattle is the house guest for several days this week of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Barnes. Mr. and Mrs. Kaufman came down from Seat tle on Christmas morning and Mr. Kaufman remained until Sunday evening. Mies Adelia Prlchard, past pres ident of the national federation of business and professional wo men's clubs, left late yesterday for Vancouver, B. C, where she will give the principal address. to night at the annual meeting - of Seattlo, Mies Edna L. Sterling of the Vancouver business and pro fessional women's club, returning to Portiann Thursday. Miss Prlchard vu accompanied by Mies Jennette M. Daitey ot St. Paul, publicity director of the Minnesota federation of business and Professional women's clubs. Miss Dalley Is making an extend ed visit In Portland, and Is renew ing her friendship wth Miss Prlch ard, whom she met while the Portland woman was national president of the organization.
