(AP) The photographic sky pa trol maintained at the Harvard observatory has caught a ''speed ster" among comets, according to Professor Edward S. King of the observatory staff. Professor King characterized the year 1025 as a remarkable one for comets bo cause of the discovery of five new comets In addition to-half a dozen periodic ones scheduled to reap pear. "Two new comets have been discovered in the past week," said Professor King, "and one of Playing again to a house packed to the farthest corner ,of the bal cony, last night's Association "Vau deville at he Hcillg theatre won round after round of applause as act after act was presented. The versatility -that has marked each number of the. circuit since its establishment In Salem char acterized last night's entertain ment. Beginning with an act hav ing in It baffing, mysterious mag ic spiced with bursts of wit, the vaudeville went on with an act o? clever stunt violin ploying, a girl and music, singing and danc ing act, a fa ice of sidesplitting ab surdity and an exhibition of aerial Blunts. . John Geiger with hia "talking" violin proved that the word talk ing was no misnomer in the case of his violin. He oouUl make the vio lin talk back to the man in the wings in language that would hard y have been pcrmlssable actually to apeak in public. He could play his fiddle in such a way that It sounded like four of them going at onoe. "A timely Revue,' presented by three dancing gUfa and two sing ing and playing men, was popular In is character, yet different from the ordinary run of vaudevlllo ininiln'i's. Opinions always differ as to the bos: number oi, the program, but most of tho audience, would have agreed that Bill Telaak and Irene Dean, presenting "Calling," were fully as laughable as anything else on the program. He with his troua er with the enormous Oxford bags she with considerably less, carried on a dialogue, with an lntermittant burst of dancing or playing or something else requiring real tal ent, that kept the audience In an uproar. The final act, If not more diffi cult than any other series of aer ial stunts seen In Salem, was more unusual and more attractive to the -eye than moat of them. Of many things (.hero is always enough to go around, and trouble is one of them. A radio and electrical exhibition !g planned In Tokio this month.
