fact that the governor of Texas

sombly which the governor has
been requested to call and which,
if she falls to issue the call, the
speaker has been asked to sum

"If the evidence is sufficient to
bring impeachment, the fact that

ture to hesitate in p?rforming its
duty," the speaker asserted.
Mr. Satterwhito added that In
his opinion Jamca B. Ferguson,
former governor of Texas, im
peached in hie second term of of
fice, is In reality the governor of
Texas and bellevps that what Gov
ernor Miriam Ferguson does is
really her -husband's fiction.
All state officiate and heads of
state departments and institutions
are subject to impeachment in
Texas under statutory provisions.

cially opened the eighteenth an
nual Christmas seal sale In Orcgou
Friday with a telegram of greeting
and endorsement to seal sale chair
man in every county in the stute.
His telegram is as follows:
"To all Christmas seal workers
in Oregon, greetings: You are en
gaged in a great enterprise for
Oregons welfare. Give it your best
efforts. Every Chfistmas seal sold
helps to stamp out tuberculosis
and increase knowledge of preven
tion. Your work has. my hearties!
approval."
This, Sunday's bill at the Bligh
theater is a novel one. It is head
ed by the Cfcectte and Ryuell re
vue. Seven pepole make up the
company, who go through a series
of dances that are well offered.
Two Portland people are in the
cast, Don ltamsdell, a dancer, and
Mies Hazel Gray, pianist. The act
is full of pep, wardrobe is classy
and tho musical numbera are well
arranged.
A decided novelty is offered by
Jack Van Camp, who brings with
him a trained pig that does his
sLufE in grand style. Tho animal
does a litilo of everything, and he
never fails to perform, as Jack is
right there with the bottle.
Oeet and Fagan present a com
edy novelty. Miss Oest does the
comedy, while her partner Is a
good foil for her witity chatter. At
tho close of the act. Miss Oest does
a yodollng number.
Frank and Grace Webb do an
other comedy turn of a different
style.
Opening the shpw is Romeo,
master of the accoiclian. He has
selected some good numbers which
please the audience.

observatory has caught a ''speed
ster" among comets, according to
Professor Edward S. King of the
observatory staff. Professor King
characterized the year 1025 as a
remarkable one for comets bo
cause of the discovery of five new

periodic ones scheduled to reap
pear. "Two new comets have been
discovered in the past week,"
