Mr. Cooley -motored to Cottage Grove, Sunday morning, and came buck with her. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Myers spent Sunday in Silverton as guests at tho Home of Mrs. Aiyers parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Edison. Herman Kleper and Miss Rose Kloper drove to Salem, Monday, and spent the day at the home ot their brother, William Kleper. Mrs. J. M. Calavan was the dele gate from Talbot district to tho health demonstration council held in Salemf Saturday afternoon, The delegates' ohosen in the Sidney district were unable to attend. S. A. Peaeo- of Jefferson called on George Rallo, Sunday morning. C. A. Myers and Fred Jorgen- son were business visitors in Sa lem, Saturday. Frank Kleper was called to Sa lem, Saturday, by the serious 111 ncss of his brother, William 'Kle per. Mr. Kleper is suffering from a severe attack of pneumonia at his home there. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Freeman had as their guests lost week, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Freeman of Bruce, who were married November 8. Mrs. Bruce was formerly Miss Nettle McClure, G. H. Marlatt was among the members of the Jefferson Masonic lodgo who attended the community gathering In Albany, Tuesday night, when the Albany lodge was host to members of Harrisburg, Scio, Shodd, Mills City, Lebanon and Jefferson lodges, Miss Verna Cooley of Jefferson and Mra. Cora Rose of Salem were guests ot their parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Cooley, over the week end. Miss Grace Harding and Miss Jeanette Brown of Corvatlls spent Friday and Saturday with Miss Harding s sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Freeman. Miss Harding -and Misa Brown are teachers In the Corvallls schools. H. W. Cooley and sons sold their turkeys last week to a Sulem firm. Mr. and MrB. Mr. and Mrs. Holla Phillips, who were married last week In Dallas, are spending a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Os born. Mrs. Phillips was Miss Tliyra Cochran. Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Doty, who have been In Keleo, Wash., for the last two weoks where Mrs, Doty's brother, Edward Lynes, Is very ill vore home for a few days last week. They were accompanied here by Mrs. Doty's parentB, Mr, and Mrs. Charles Lynes. Mr. and Mrs. Doty and Mrs. Lynes returned to Kelso, Saturday. Mr. Lynes re mained hero with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. N. Moyer entertained her Sunday school class, the Blue birds, at her home Saturday after noon. The class elected their new officers as follows; President, Luclle Mack; secretary, Virginia Adams. After spending a pleasant afternoon in making plans and playing, games the hostess served dainty refreshment. . Carl and Lelloy Allen have ar rived here from Vernonia and will spend the winter with their grandparents and attend school. Mr. and Mrs. E. tl.
