HE FOX LEADS Gala rioeklns, who runs a fox farm at Hood Hirer, came to Salem the other night to call on Henry Hill at the Ferry atreet garage. They brought with, them a little silver fox, six months old. It 1b a pet and rides about In their auto mobile, climbe over their shoulders and is tame ai a kitten. Hasklns sayt he wouldn't take $5000 for hfm because of his gentleness. The little fox was chained to a post while the party talked in the nearby office. As they came from tho office an hour later a black streak ran across the barn. The fox had loosened its chain and broke away. The little animal ducked Into Ferry street, with Hasklns, his wife and Hill aftor him. For half an hour a merry, midnight fox bunt was on. The little fellow ducked up Uie alley back of the new theater. Occasionally a tinkle from his chain gave the pursuers a new clue. Then the fox sot play ful. Ha ran Into the street, would allow one ot hU pursuers to almost touch the chain and then would jump away. The gams went on for some time, when Mrs. Hasklns suddenly grabbed the chain and retrieved the animal. BOBBED HAIR INJURES ENGLISH BRUSH TRADE London, Nov. 20. (A. P.) The modern girl is blamed for many things, but the latest complaint against hor is that because she shingles or bobs her hair, the Eng lish brush trade has suffered con siderably. Giving testimony before the board of trade committee Inquiring into an application from the brush industry for a protective duty on imported hair brushes, manufac turers averred that hair bobbing had Influenced the hair brush trade to an enormous extent and said that cheaply produced brush es should be kept out of the coun try so as to give the home made article a chance. CHURCHES WILL HOLD 6 SERVICES i THANKSGIVING Details ot church servlcoa here Thanksgiving day were aunounced this morning by the Salem Minis terial association. The same gen eral plan ot services that was used last year will be carried out this season. Instead of one service in the downtown churches there have been arranged six services In the different sections of the city. Speakers this year are to' be the new ministers who have been In Salem less than a year.
