At ihs time 24 pieces of underwear and eight wool dresses were on displuy. A style show will be a feature of the department during the winter. Ml so Yantis also an nounced that the cafeteria at the high school will open before Thanksgiving, At the pnrent-teacher'a associa tion meeting plans for assisting In the purchase of a piano for the high school were discussed. No definite decision on this matter was reached. It is understood that the association will assist the stu dent body in the purchasing of this piano. Aire. Helen Wrightman then' presented the silver cup which the Silverton Parent-Teacher associa tion won at the slate convention at Portland for having the largest paid up membership outside of Portland. (AP) The first connect for carrying the mails by airplane was signed Friday by Poetmastor Gen. New with Waltei T. Varney of San Francisco, for daily, except Bun- day service each way between Elko, Nev., anil Paeco, Wash., by way of Boise, Idaho. Service will begin as soon as the contractor can comply with requirements. The route will expedite mall to and from Portland, Seattle, Taco ma, Spokane and other Pacific northwest cities by making con nection with the trans-continental air mail at Elko, and with overnight trains at Pasco. The contractor will receive 80 per cent of the postage. The schedule calls for planes to leave Elko at 11:15 a. m., upon the arrival of the trans-continent al malt pittne, arrive at Boise at 1:55 p, m. and at Pasco at 4:35 p. m. Southbound, planes will leave Pasco at 8 a. m., arrive at Boise at 10:50 a. m. and at Elko at 1:10 p. m. City .Woman's club Thursday aft ernoon at the home of Mrs. W. W.
