The message indicated that ho was be ing held at Oakland by O. U. White of that city, all the Oak land police force having departed to join the man hunt. Dalrymple advised White to hold the man nt Oakland pending the arrival of a deputy sheriff from Roseburg, -who was sent word to proceed to Oakland. O. R.
