POLK FIRE SITUATION GOOD Dallas, Or., Juy 10. The fire situation remains very good in this district, according to W, V. Fuller, fire wartren. All of the earlier fires are out with the ex ception that a few live spots may remain in the tiro near the Wil lamette Villey Lumber company camp. SILVERTON CHURCHES LAY PLANS TO UNITE Silverton, July 10 Meetings of the congregations we held In both the St. Johns and Trinity Lutheran churcnes Wednesday night, the meeting being called largely for the purpose of discuss ing the question ot ui'ion nf the two churches. Tho question was brought up by the Taither-ia troth erhood society vhi :"n aske l the churches to consider the proposi tion. A good attendaice was re ported from St. Johns church with not bo many present at Trinity church. Following the suggestion of the brotherhood a committee of five were elected from each congrega tion. Floyd Cameron, one of three youths about 18 years of age who were sentenced to three years in the penitentiary List winter by Judgj Ramsey for robbery, was paroled Wednesday l.y Governor Pierce, according to Information received hore. Camcroa, Bob Weiser and Monroe Wort ham entered the Kails City Mercantile company store In December. They pleaded guilty in January ond were com mitted to the penitentiary on Jan uary 15. According to present indications a numow of vls'.torj will be present from outside Ihe state as well as :Tom Oregon. The camp meeting was held here a year ago, and at that time more than 500 persons were present. It is expected that this year the num ber will bo even higher. A few campers have already ar rived, but the principal Influx Is expected to begin early next week. John T. Myers has charge of the ground and, with a force f men working under him, Is rapidly get ting the place into condition. Cafeteria service is to be provided, the dining hall being rearranged for that purpose. The usual cus tom of operating a store on the ground wUl be observed.
