Eduard Bones, foreign minister of Czecho slovakia, was today unanimously elected president of the seventh international lalor conference at its opening session here. LANDS Governor Pierce has written Governor Hunt of Arizona ex pressing a desire to join the latter in a movement to have the United States turn ovtr to the state all of the remaining public lands within the boundaries of thc states. Governor I:unt was inspired . to make the suggestion by the an nounced trip of a sub-committee of the United States senate commit tee on public tends for the investi gation of these lands, and Gov ernor Pierce says that when thisj sub-committee reaches Oregon be will see that tho state land board links for tho deeding to the state of all the public lands for thc benofit of tho schools. "I would much prefer to have all proceds from such lands go in to our school fund," writes Pierce. "Keeping the forest reserves and Indian lands off the tax rolls Is more than the government ought to ask of the sparsely settled west ern states."
