Tobln charging them with (rand in connection with obtaining and forging a government pension check for 15. The two brothers were taken from here to Portland. The pen sion check in question was issued to a patient at the Oregon State hospital where Edward J. Tobin was employed as ah attendant. It was charged be filched the check from the patient's mall, turned It over to bis brother, who cashed it In a local store. Before the brothers were ch trued with the check fraud. Edward J. Tobln was arrested by county officers charged with aid ing a patient to escape from the hospital. When federal officers wanted him he was released here before tried on that charge. Poor base running coupled with twelve errors by the prisoners made the prison team easy for the college players. Had the prison ers played their usual game the score might have been different. The Oregon Journal lost their first game of the season to the Al !ey Cats due to the stellar hurling of Red Lyons and several errors. Several of the regular players fail ed to show up for the game which handicapped the paper players. The Oregon Journal nine has add ed several pliyurs to their lineup and they are hoping to get re venge for the beating in the first -ame. Jack Minto of Salem bested Morris of the Bearers 6-3, 6-2. This was a clean sweep of the singles tor the local tennis stars.
