California figures every tourist a prospective settler, and down there they go out of their way to make things very pleasant for the tourist. Oregon Is starting to do the same, and every line of busi ness will be benefitted. In the February Issue of "Oregon Busi ness," an editorial waa written on "The Value of Tourist Opinion," and tbe concluding sentence reads: "It should be remembered that anything contributing to the favorable opinion of the tourist is a direct contribution to the future welfare and advancement of the state." Thousands of tourists come to Oregon every year, and Salem be ing the capital city is visited by almost every one of these tourlets.
