Ercel Kay and Mrs. Hugh McCammon entertained the Monday bridge club in the McCammon home on Summer street The rooms were particularly attractive with their baskets of lavendar lilacs. As their special guests the hoPtecses had bidden Mrs. David Eyre. Mrs. Orris Fry and Mrs. Hollls Huntington. Quest prize km won by Mrs. Huntington. During the tea hour Mrs. Prince Byrd assisted Mrs. Kay ind Mrs. McCammon. In the group aleo were Mrs. Frit Slade, Mrs. T. A. Roberts. Mrs. Curtis Cross, Mrs. Connell Dyer, Mrs. Arthur Rahn, Mrs. E. M. Hofer, Mrs. Frank fipeai, Mrs. Keith Powell of Woodburn, ind Mrs. Dan J. Fry, Jr. Mrs. Dan J. Fry, Jr., and Mra. T. A. Roberts will entertain the ;lub in the Fry home next Mon day. Colonel E. Hofer and Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Hnfer spent the week end at Agate beach arranging for the opening of their summer tomes. Mr. and Mrs. Melville Jones of Oakland, California, who are vis iting with Mr. Jones' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Jones, are spending this week in Eugene ae the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Beneflel. Both Mr. and Mrs. Jones are former Oregon students. Mrs. Jones was Miss Esther Booth of Eugene before her marriage. Mrs. S. P. Kimball entertain ed the Round-up club memb re and several additional guests at bridge In her home yesterday. Guest prize was won by Mrs. E Hofer while among the members Mrs. John Griffith won high icore. The Royal Neighbors Sewing club will meet tomorrow after noon at the home of Mrs. P. Scbott, S50 E street. Assisting hostesses will be Mrs. K. U Schott, Mrs. Laura Noyes and Mrs. Rhoda Baker. Mr. and Mra. Chester A. Mce. 320 north Front street, announce the engagement of their daughter, Pearl Alcne, to John Aloysius Horgan. The date of the weddin will be announced later. New members admitted to the Salem Woman's club at the reg ular April business meeting at the clubhouse on Saturday af ternoon were Mrs. E. T. Barnes, Mrs. Florian Von Eschen. Mrs. H. T. French and Martha J. Brow nell. According to the vote of tbe members Mrs. C. C. Clark, Mrs. W. E. Anderson and Mrs. G. C. Bellinger will represent the Sa lem club at the Institute which the department of public health of the Oregon Federation of Wo men's clubs will hold In Portland on April 29. 30 and May 1. The program will include discussion ot various phases of the -child welfare, disabled children's hos pitals, public health, Indian chil dren and anti-narcotics questions. Delegates chosen to attend the county conference at Aurora on May 23 were Mrs. W. I. Staley, Mrs. W. E. Anderson, Mrs. W. C. Dibble, Mrs. C. K. Spaulding and Mrs. C. S. Hamilton. Alternates named were Mrs. F. B. South wick, Mrs. H. J. Wiedmer, Mrs. Charles E. Roblin. Mrs. W. F. Fargo and Mrs. Frank M. Eriilu son. The B. Y. O. E. club members were entertained St dinner Fri day evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil McGahan. Spring flowers, narcissus and jonquiln were attractively used on the dinner table and about the llv- ng rooms. Cards and radio furn ished tbe diversion of the eve ning. Pollock were their daughter, Mir Helen Pol lock, and Miss Annette Heckwan, students at the University ot Oregon, who motored up from Eugene with Mrs. Frederick Swi gert, Jr., (Christine Heckman) and Miss Leola Cratg. Mrs. Swi gert and Miss Craig went down to Eugene for the April Frolic on Saturday evening. Under a canopy of pink atreamere and pink blouaoms with a huge Japanese umbrella centering the room the club mem bers and their guests danced un til a late hour when tbe entire group went to the Spa for a mid night cupper. Bright pink tulips centered tbe long tables laid In tbe Rose room ot tbe Spa. Covers were placed for more than a hundred. Six formal dances have been sponsored by the club during the past season and each ot them have been affaire of social brilliancy preceded by a number-ef delight ful dinners and followed by eqnal ly delightful supper parties. The membership of the club varied little from year Co year and in cludes many prominent Salemltes. The supper last night closed club activities until next fall.
