Burgle, an old fisherman, and Tornps, the hired man, prove most interesting characters, and Tie for the hand ot Keslah, a spinster lady who is "43 and desperate' Their advances from a matrimon ial standpoint begun, after Kezih falls heir to a amall fortune. Betsy Tornps and Mose Gosstn, her stuttering lover, furnish end of amusement throughout the play. Jlmpsey, the fresh air lad, who Is spending the summer with the Cummin Ka family proves himself an average American boy, always getting into rafachief. Mr. Hoi den, the lawyer, aids much In unfolding the troubles of his friend. With money revenues, good for tunes and exciting Incidents the plot Is made most Interesting and mystifying, but the tangles are all straightened In a pretty Xmas scene in the last act. Silverton high school student have found a uniquo method of raising the necessary athletic funds. Friday was known to many of the high school students as labor day. Silverton busi ncss men and townspeople are working in conjunction with the Hgh school students by giving them work one day at wages. The utudeuts have agreed to give the money to the student body treas ury and It will go toward outfit ing the baseball and track team.
