The measure provided for a pre-primiry assem bly of precinct committeemen of tbe political parties, the assembly to recommend to the voters its choice of the primary candidates. Senator Dunn of Jackson county explained the niasure and It was im mm. lately attacked by Joseph Klepper, Too-e and Zimmerman. Senator lCddy spoke In favor of the bill, declaring tt was a step toward party . itoration and par ty honesty. Tbe measure was ox plained In detail by Senator Moaei and Senator Miller urged Its pas sage on grounds that It woud lead the pontics of the country away from chaos. Senator Butler vigorously ob jected to the measure, declaring It would cause party splits Instead of cohesion. Senator Garland also poke aKainst the bill. The vote was: For Banks, Corbett, Davis.
