SCORE 31 TO 17 The stiff fight that bad been promised by the Pacific basketball quintet failed to materializo when the Uadgem met the Willamette team on the local lioor last night. The visitors were left far behin from the time the first whistle blew, and the final count stood 81 to 17 In favor of the Uearcata. The mabt noticeable feature of the clash was tne playing of "Hank" Hartley, Willamette cop ter. He undoubtedly put up his best game of the season, showing some uf the stuff that was predict ed for him last year. The game was rough, numerous fouls being called on both sides. ' The winning of last night's tilt saves Willamette from a snug cel lar berth in the northwest confer ence percentage column, leaving that position for Pacific, which has gone through the season with out a single win. Ouly one more game remains on the liearcots' schedule, a clash with tho University of Southern California on the local floor being slated for next Monday night. The game will not affect northwest conference standings, as the visi tors are members only of the Pa cific coast conference. Hieh Flavs at Corvallii.
