A2 Community wallowa.com O BITUARIES April 6, 2016 Wallowa County Chieftain F IVE G ENERATIONS Viola Kreizenbeck Feb. 10, 1923 to March 12, 2016 Former Joseph resident Vi- ola Marie Conrad Kreizenbeck died March 12, 2016, in Port- land. She was born in Emmett, Idaho, on Feb. 10, 1923, to Jake and Anna Conrad. In 1940 she married Jack J. Kreizenbeck in Emmett. Jack and Viola lived and worked in Emmett until 1944, when they moved to Enterprise to open OK Rubber Welders — later a Goodyear Tire dealer known as Jack’s Tire Service for 40 years. They were blessed with three children: Janet, Jerry and Connie. Viola, in the early years, was a bookkeeper for their business as well as raising their family and working in her yard growing beautiful À owers. She was involved in the work of the Shriners’ Hospital, Eastern Star, Mother of Rainbow Girls, Hospital Aux- iliary Board and Smart Reading Program. She was preceded in death by son Jerry, who died in an air- plane accident in 1966; Jack, her husband of 61 years; her par- ents; two sisters and one brother. Survivors include Viola’s daughters Janet Smith of Portland and Connie (Steve) Mayo of Discovery Bay, Calif,; grand- children Randy (Robin) Smith of Tigard, Scott (Jennifer) Mayo of Pleasanton, Calif. and Amy (Joe) Arenz of Portland; great-grandchildren Jessica (Sean) Passage of Bend, Jereme (Nahomy) Smith of Hermiston, Brooke, Mitchell, Harrison, and Isabella Mayo of Pleasanton, Brooks and Reece Arenz of Port- land; great-great-granddaughter Hayden Passage of Bend; and many nieces, nephews, as well as great- and great-great-nieces and nephews and cousins; and Jack Harmon and children. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m Saturday, April 9 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Enterprise. In lieu of À owers, donations can be made to: Kreizenbeck Memorial Scholarship (Community Bank), Friends of Enterprise Cemetery or St. Pat- rick’s Episcopal Church.
