"Spike" Briggs, president of the Detroit Tigers, said today he con sidered a reported "offer" of more than two million dollars for his ball club as an "inquiry" and would not discuss it untd after; the first of the year. Briggs confirmed Tuesday night a report that a six-man eastern syndicate was "interested" in the Detroit baseball team, a member of the American League. But he said he considered a letter re ceived from the syndicate an in quiry and not an offer. The syndicate, headed by New York insurance executive Cy Block reportedly offered more than two million dollars for the team.
