Creative Writing fcroup Organized The' first regular meeting of a creative writing study group spon sored by the Bend branch of Araer ican i Association of University Women will be held Friday, Nov. '12, at 8 p.m. at the home of Mis; Eleanor Brown, 530 Georgia aven ue. The time was set at an organ ization meeting Tuesday evening at the Deschutes County Library. The programs will consist oi talks by professional writers in va rious fields, followed by discus sions. At each meeting, there will be either a manuscript reading o. a report from selected study ma terial which has been assembled The organization is open to both men and women, and there an no . requirements as to education or experience, it was announced. Legal Notice RESOLUTION NO. 441 WHEREAS tha City Commission of th City of Bend, duly constituted and UMmbled, deem it expedient and neces-. ary to remove the present bridge, known as the Portland Avenue Bridge across the Deechotea River within the corporate lupiu of the City of Bend, and replace It with a concrete and steel bridge, and WHEREAS, the said City Commission finds it necessary to finance the said re moval and replacement of the said bridge tnrougn tne proceeds or a bond issue, now therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the Commis sion of the City of Bend. JUTTED TO THE VOTERS BY THE COMMISSION To amend the charter of the City of Bend adopted by toe voters at an elec tion held October 16, 1828, as subse quently amended: BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE Or THE' CITY OF BEND. OREGON. that tha charter of the City of Bend adopted by the voters at an election held October 16. 1928, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto Chapter XIII to read as fol lows: Section 1. The City Commisaton of the City of Bend Is authorized to remove the nresent bridge, known as the Port land Avenue Bridge across the Deschutes River within the corporate limits of the City of Bend, and replsce.it with a con crete and steel bridge, and to provide uch approaches and other appurtenan ces and facilities as are necessary and convenient in connection therewith and to further acquire any necessary real property, easements and rights-of-way tor tne ssia project. Section 2. In order to provide funds with which to remove the nresent brida-e. known as the Portland Avenue Bridge serous the Deschutes River within the corporate limits of the City of Bend and replsce it with a concrete and steel bridge, and to provide such approaches snd other appurtenances and facilities as are necessary and convenient in connec tion therewith and to further acquire any necessary real property, easements and rights-of-way for said project, the City Commission of the City of Bend is authorized to issue and sell general ob- iiKuon DonQi oi tne K,uy oi acaa in the sum Of S90.00O.00.
