As prices eased late In the ses sion trading continued to dwindle from the active pace of the previ ous 10 sessions. - At the opening of dealings, liquor shares developed firmness reflecting an overnight announce ment that the WPB would permit production for the month of Aug use of beverage alcohoL Profit taking wiped out the gains tempo rarily but the advance was re sumed before the close. Late gains in the liquors ranged to more than a point In American Instilling. Distillers cor p.-Seagram's was up a point Park & Tilford inc., selling for cash, dropped 8 points to a new low for the year on action by the Pennsylvania state liquor author ity to ban in that state the recently-announced whiskey distribution by the company. A. medium at 33c. . ' .',-; General Rain Aids Road Maintenance Ten days of rain, which in the Bend area alone amounted to more than two inches, finds Coun ty Roadmaster George H. McAl lister and his crew hard and happily at work in the north end of the county. Taking advantage of the damp ened roads, two maintenance machines are operating near Red mond and the third in the Clover dale sector. McAllister said today that the present work will con tinue through next week when he and his men will move to Sisters to do much-needed repair work on the town's streets.
