In the carrier group, Southern pacific and New York Central, each with fractional-gains, featur ed the turnover. Mahoning Valley railroad spurted 6 points on a single 10-share lot -sale. Small gains were noted in such storks Southern Railway, Morris and lEsscx, Northern Pacific, Pennsyl vania, ureal norinern preierreo, Delaware and Hudson; Delaware, tckawanna and Western, and Atlantic Coast Line. Santa Fe was active and up more than a point. Outlook for heavy passenger business after the war aided the carriers. Budd Manufacturing is sues were again strong spots on outlook for big business from the railroads after the war. Other rail equipments were firm. Engineers Public Service fea tured the market in turnover and made a new high. Other utilities were steady to firm. The theory that the killer may have been a guest of the fashion, able hotel was strengthened by Mrs. Hugh McBlrney, a prominent member of Chicago society. She told police she saw a woman wearing a Persian lamb coat and a gaily decorated hat lunching In the Camella room of the Drake Wednesday, several hours before the shooting. Mrs. McBirney said the woman answered the de scription given of the slayer by Mrs. Williams' daughter, . who witnessed the shooting.
