September 7. will be per mitted to enter beginners' classes in each of our schools, as such classes will he organised on that date." Su perintendent Ager mentioned in giv ing out information to parents of be ginners. "Children who are unable to do the regular work as outlined for our first grades, will not be per mitted to remain in the classes. Karly Registration AsUitl "Because of our crowded condi tions, no child who has not reached his sixth birthday will be permitted to enter at this time. Mid year classes will he organized in January for those who reach their sixth birth day before the second semester he Kins. Parents are requested to regis ter their children who expect to enter the beginners' classes with principals of the various schools some time in the first week of September. "Principals will be In their offices nnd will be glad to do this before the opening day of school. Late regis trations may not be accepted if classes are full, or transfers to more distant schools may be necessary. At any rate, early registrations will greatly assist principals in organiz ing their work." The office hours of the principals in the first week of September will be from 1 to 4 o'clock In the afternoons. A considerable increase in attend ance Is expected, but It is believed that all pupils can be housed in the regular school buildings, although all rooms will be In use. At an early hour this faternoon. the Metolius country and the Fort Hock country were sllll dry. Intermittent rain storms were re ported from Walker mountain. Although less than one-tenth of an inch, the precipitation in Bend cooled off the atmosphere and set tled the dust. A high humidity was reported from Ihe local office of the Deschutes national forest. No forest fires are burning in the Deschutes country. The precipitation of today breaks a month of drouth. On July 23. a fall of .68 of an inch of ruin fell in Bend in a period of less than one hour. For dessert, rlain rice pudding, junket, cup custard, all sweetened with saccharine, or fruit (except bananns or straw berries) either raw or cooked, four to five ounces.
