Deschutes national forest. No forest
fires are burning in the Deschutes

The precipitation of today breaks
a month of drouth. On July 23. a
fall of .68 of an inch of ruin fell in
Bend in a period of less than one
hour.

Dempsey. brother of Jack, the heavy

sanity here today and placed under
observation pending hearing before a
lunacy commission Monday.
The champion's brother was ar
rested on complaint of his wife. Mrs.
Edna Dempsey, that he was addicted
to dope and liquor and had "mis
treated" her and their child "beyond
endurance".

BREAKFAST : Grapefruit, peach without sugar or a
sour apple. WhiUi bread, not more than one nnd a
quarter ounces, one soft boiled egg. Coffee substitute.
LUNCH: Cup of tea, no cream, sugar or milk. Small
sandwich of white bread. A small portion of meat
may be eaten. No crackers.
DINNER: Clear soup. Koasted or broiled beef, Iamb,
veal or game, four to five ounces. One or two of the
following green vegetables: Spinach, string beans,
green peas, celery, brusscl sprouts, raw or cooked
tomatoes.
One and a half ounces of any of these. For dessert,
rlain rice pudding, junket, cup custard, all sweetened
with saccharine, or fruit (except bananns or straw
berries) either raw or cooked, four to five ounces.
Take a glass of water when fruit is not eaten.
Drink a glass of water at nine, eleven, three, five o'clock
ftand at bedtime. Take buttermilk between meals if desired.
