Charles Henry Schwartz, missing Oakland chemist who is wanted for murder, is believed to have escaped aboard .the steamer Nordic of the tleneral Steamship company, which left her1 yesterday for Swedish ports. Officials of the Moore shipyard here told Chief of Police Drew toda that the day after the explosion ami fire in the Walnut Creek laboratory, a man answering Schwartz's descrip tion, carrying two suit cases ami highly nervous, asked directions to the Nordic's dock. . After- leaving her pier here, the Nordic lay in the bay until yester day. Mrs A. M. Betty arrived Saturday morning from Oakland. California, to spend a two months' vacation here on the Betty ranch. She will be joined later by Dr. Betty, who is now in Oklahoma.
