Three distinct earth tremors spread further terror among panic stricken Santa Barbara residents today. Strict martial law was established through out the city to safeguard life and property. McAdoo owns a large estate here and is prominent in Santa Bar bara's civic projects. "The city of Santa Barbara will come hack, bigger and better." Mc Adoo declared "It has been more than 100 years since the last serious quake struck this city It will be jmore than ion years before such a disaster is duplicated. The citizens will rebuild Santa Barbara within a year with the aid of the state of California." McAdoo made a personal survev of the ruins today.
