SANTA BARBARA. June 30. !
Three distinct earth tremors spread
further terror among panic stricken
Santa Barbara residents today. Strict
martial law was established through
out the city to safeguard life and
property.
A severe jolt, accompanied by
rumbli.igs and rolling of the earth '
literally rocked the entire city at;
1:22 a. m. Buildings left standing
but in a shaky state from the disas
trous upheaval of yesterday, cruni-:
bled to the streets.
Inhabitants stood panic stricken
la their yards or on hill sides, and j
witnessed further destruction of the
once magnificent main thorough
fare of the resort city, which less i
than 2i hours before was lined with
beautiful structures of ornate Span
ish design.
