Rome Hermiston August 4, 1990 - November 11, 2017 Cameron E. Rome was born August 4, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nev. He passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017, in Kennewick, Wash. Cameron moved to Hermiston in 1999, where he attended school and graduated from Hermiston High School in the Class of 2008. He enjoyed playing football, and was a gifted mathematics student. After high school, he attended OSU for one year after being accepted into the engineering program at 17 years old, and returned home to attend Rome BMCC for an addi- tional year prior to entering the work world. Cameron met Myriam Sanchez in 2010 and the couple were united in marriage on May 12, 2012, in Boardman, Oregon. He enjoyed playing video games, helping family members (especially his grandparents), hosting family events, BBQing and baking, and most especially spending time with his two sons. Betty went to meet her Savior October 27, 2017. Betty is preceded in death by her parents John Crookshank and Francis Ficher; her brother Richard Crookshank; sister Bonnie Sills; and her granddaughter Tavia McNeal. Betty is survived by her sister MaryAnn (Crookshank) Sparks of Dallas, Monjay Texas, and brother John (Skipper) Crookshank and wife Angela of Westminster, Calif. Betty loved being a mother and was proud of all her children and is survived by daughters Dory Thompson and Dixie McNeal, both of Hermiston, Ore., Dana Aufdermauer and husband Don, and Denice Richter, of Tillamook, Ore.; sons Doug Richter and wife Laura of Irrigon, Ore., and David Richter and wife Kalcy of Tillamook; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Betty was very kind and non-judgmental, she always looked for the best in people. Betty loved to quilt and craft, she enjoyed going for drives, especially along the coast, and she loved to sit and just watch and listen to the ocean. Betty also liked to read and put puzzles together, she loved to play games and she was good at making up her own rules as she went along. In 1997 Betty moved back to Tillamook, where she took up guitar and painting as a few of her hobbies. However, being with her family is what she enjoyed the most. Betty started her working career at Fuller’s Market in Tillamook. For many years she worked as a breakfast cook at 4J’s in Tillamook, Newport and Hermiston, to name a few. Betty retired from Lamb Weston in Boardman, Ore., where she worked in the lab. Betty also touched many lives while volunteering for several years at Nehalem Valley Care Center. Services were held at Five Rivers Retirement Home in Tillamook on Sunday, November 5, 2017. (Gerry) Reed, 94, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017. She was born March 7, 1923, in Herbert, Saskatchewan, Canada. At the age of 7 she moved to Oregon with her parents, Harry and Anne Parkhurst. The family settled in Pendleton in 1941 where she lived the rest of her life. Gerry graduated from Pendleton High School with the class of 1941. It was at P.H.S. where she met her future husband, George F. Reed, a lifelong Pendletonian. They married on July 3, Reed 1942. Two daugh- ters, Jill and Julie, completed the family. She worked at U.S. Bank for more than 30 years until her retirement in 1982. Gerry and George realized their dream of building a cabin near Meacham that became their weekend retreat. They took great pleasure in sharing it with family and friends. Upon retiring they traveled throughout the United States and spent winters in Yuma, Ariz. She later moved to the Tri-Cities where she lived for 15 years and worked as a mental health advocate for the state of Washington. She has lived in Umatilla for the past 15 years. Barbara enjoyed quilting, embroidery, working in her garden and studying her Bible.
