Her favorite vacation was going to Black Butte with her family and did every summer for over 35 years. Shirley is survived by her daughter Terri Sheehy; her grand- sons Kris and Drew Hubbard; her granddaughters Phaedra Harmening, Melodi Krol, Meagan Sheehy and Brooke Sheehy; and six great-grandchildren. Gheorghe ‘George’ Stroe Pilot Rock November 13, 1954 - July 25, 2017 Gheorghe “George” Stroe, 62, of Pilot Rock died July 25, 2017. They enjoyed 38 years of marriage and had four children: Sean, Shantel, Sheila and Rachel. George loved spending time with his 11 grand- children. George is preceded in death by his loving wife Diana, his parents and two of his brothers, John and Nick. He was survived by his four children and 11 grandchildren. She was born on May 4, 1925, in Pendleton, Oregon. She grew up in Helix and gradu- ated from Helix High in 1943. She attended Oregon Larson State College and graduated in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Shirley married Bob Hawkins and they had three children: Kreg, Tammy and Terri. Later she married Bob Larson. Shirley and her family were active members of the Peace Lutheran Church in Pendleton.
