First St., asked to speak to an officer about someone stealing his boat tags. 11:14 a.m. - Pendleton police looked into a situation where local offender Eric Arbogast may have damaged city property and possibly obtained water illegally on Southeast Third Street. Court records show Arbogast lives at 356 S.E. Third St. and has a local case pending for first-degree theft, a felony, in which the state accused him of stealing baseball mitts worth at least $1,000. He also has a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear for the case on June 12. 11:53 a.m. - A caller on Southwest Cannon Street, Heppner, reported a male and female “were in the camp trailer in the back, really fighting bad.” 1:37 p.m. - An Irrigon resident told the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office he discovered he was the victim of identity theft since 2013 or 2014 and to dispute items on his credit history he needed to talk to local law enforcement. 3:21 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office began a theft investigation at Willow Creek Terrace, 400 Frank Gilliam Drive, Heppner, after a caller there reported the theft of $453 from her purse. 4:35 p.m. - Stanfield police responded to a report of a burglary on South Wayne Street, Stanfield. 4:49 p.m. - An Irrigon father reported his son, who may be using heroin, stole his 2015 GMC Terrain 5:07 p.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office received a report of cattle neglect at Kunze Lane and Paul Smith Road, Boardman. 5:20 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from North Golda Road, Hermiston, about aggressive dogs chasing vehicles and going onto neighboring properties. 9:30 p.m. - A Pendleton male on Northwest Furnish Avenue called 9-1-1 and asked what his options were regarding a female he let in his apartment but now wants gone. Turned out his option was not to call 9-1-1 for a civil situation. 11:25 p.m. - A caller told Hermiston police he caught a male trying to steal his bike on Northeast Sixth Place and the suspect was now on Theater Lane. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Elizabeth “Betty” (Bennett) Jackson Larry Michael Sater Forest Grove February 26, 1924-November 23, 2016 Hermiston March 16, 1944-June 20, 2017 Beautiful Betty Bennett was born February 26, 1924 in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Mary (Walters) Bennett. She died November 23, 2016 in Forest Grove. The family moved west in 1928 and Betty spent her early life in Idaho and Montana. She received a teaching certificate from Montana State Normal College Jackson in Dillon, and taught elementary school at Mount Vernon Washington, then later at the two room schoolhouse in Garrison, Montana. Her adventurous nature led her to jobs in California and Alaska, then in 1963 she began working at the U.S. Forest Service in Pendleton. She retired in 1984. She is survived by her only child, Harold (and Liz) Hutchison of Forest Grove, five grandchildren, one great-grand- daughter, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her four brothers and two sisters. There will be a gathering to remember Betty on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 301 NE 1st in Pendleton at 3 p.m. DEATH NOTICES Bobbi Carson Pendleton April 14, 1963-June 19, 2017 Bobbi Gail Carson, 54, of Pendleton died at a local skilled nursing facility on June 19, 2017. Larry was born March 16, 1944 in Herm- iston to Ermol and Miriam Swarner Sater. He attended school in Wallowa through the second grade and finished school in Herm- iston, graduating in 1962. He partic- ipated in football, basketball and track. Sater Larry graduated from Oregon State University in 1967 then went to work for State Farm Insurance in Salem. He married Jill Thomas of Hermiston then later divorced. After being diagnosed with multiple scle- rosis at 27, he moved back home to be closer to family. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church until he was no longer mobile.
