In the opener against Baker, Hodgen came away with a walk-off 10-9 victory, before fi nishing off the night with a 12-2 blowout victory of Redmond under the lights at Bob White Park. In Game 1, Hodgen (2-0) trailed Baker 9-5 in the bottom of the fi fth, until it rallied to score fi ve runs in the inning which was ended by a walk-off single to right CLEVELAND — The Cavaliers stopped Golden State’s perfect postseason and maybe started another comeback. PETERSON AP Sports Writer CORVALLIS — Oregon State beat Vanderbilt 8-4 in the opening game of their NCAA super regional on Friday night, a day after reports surfaced that the Beavers’ top pitcher pleaded guilty to a molestation charge as a teenager. On Thursday, The Orego- nian/OregonLive detailed the molestation case against Oregon State pitcher Luke Heimlich when he was 15. Shortly before Friday’s game, Heimlich’s attorney said the junior had asked to be excused from playing. Struggling to get anything started all night against Toronto starter Joe Biagini (1-5), the Mariners rallied with two runs in the seventh and managed to silence the thousands of Blue Jays fans who made the trip south from the provinces of western Canada for the weekend series. He found his way home three See MARINERS/2B Sports shorts Kyle Busch wins pole at Pocono LONG POND, Pa. (AP) — Kyle Busch turned a lap of 179.151 mph to win the pole at Pocono Raceway. Busch had the fastest lap Friday to win a NASCAR Cup pole for the second straight week. Busch won the pole at Dover International Speedway. Busch’s run at Dover was derailed when a tire came off the No. 18 Toyota during a pit stop. Busch crew chief Adams Stevens, tire carrier Kenny Barber and tire changer Jake Seminara Busch were suspended four races for the infraction and will not be at Pocono.
