Hermiston, which has won each CRC title since the conference’s inception in 2010, does not project to be the dominant team it has been, which could leave the door open for either The Dalles or perhaps Pendleton to take the crown. The CRC is guaranteed one automatic qualifi er for the postseason, and two play-in spots as well. But BMCC decided to keep the pool going and the Bucks and Dawgs are ready to give it their all this season. Pendleton’s boys team was district champs a year ago, but returns just one state placer in 50M freestyle champion Jon Jennings. The Bulldog boys were a young team a year ago, and with the experience gained are hoping to make noise in the district this season. Pendleton and Hermiston girls teams are both young, but have high expectations for the upcoming year. We have less swimmers this year and more pool time, I’m excited to see how out swimmers perform with the extra space and time.” 2015-16: The Buckaroos’ boys won the district title and the girls placed second. Overall Pendleton sent three boys’ relays, one girls’ relay and three boys in individual events to state. The boys’ 200-yard freestyle placed third, and their 200 medley relay placed sixth. Jenning won a state title in the 50 freestyle and placed third in the 100 freestyle.
