RECORDS Tuesday, December 6, 2016 PUBLIC SAFETY LOG 12:42 a.m. - Three or four people siphoned fuel from vehicles at J & J Snack Foods Corp., 103 Depot St., Weston. 1:20 a.m. - The driver of a newer model Honda hatchback got away from an Oregon State Police trooper. The officer tried to stop the car for failing to stop at a stop sign at Adams and McCormmach roads north of Pendleton. The car headed north on Adams Road, then west on Myrick Road, where the cop called off the chase. 1:47 a.m. - A driver fled from Milton-Freewater police during a traffic stop and crashed into a parked car at Southeast Seventh Avenue and South Mill Street. The driver then escaped on foot. 8:17 a.m. - A property manager asked law enforcement to trespass a Boardman man from a home on Northeast Riverside Avenue, Pendleton, because he has been assaulting a woman there. 1:54 p.m. - A caller reported a burned up pickup was in a pile of boulders at the gravel pit on George Cyn Road north of Hoeft Road, Pendleton. 9:18 p.m. - A caller reported 20-30 people were at Kelly’s Restaurant & Lounge, 84509 Highway 11, Milton-Freewater, and many were “getting very drunk and are bragging they are professional drunk drivers.” 10:21 p.m. - An Irrigon man reported a 40-year-old man at about 5 p.m. at the city’s skate park punched his 11-year-old grandson and took his backpack. SATURDAY 11:05 a.m. - A Pendleton man on Southwest Fifth Street reported the theft of his 50-inch TV. 11:44 a.m. - A woman told Pendleton police a man stole her fiancé’s handcuffs, watch and beanie near the Red Lion hotel on the 300 block of Southeast Nye Avenue. 2:19 p.m. - Someone stole a .45-caliber Citadel handgun from a home on Naches Avenue, Umatilla. 3:11 p.m. - A caller on Valley View Drive, Pendleton reported the theft of thousands of dollars of Anheuser-Busch steins from his residence. 8:05 p.m. - The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a Helix resident who said neighbors were yelling and fighting and threatened him, and he wanted them not to threaten him. SUNDAY 9:56 p.m. - A father at Green Acres Mobile Park on Appleton Road, Milton-Freewater, reported a dog bit his daughter on her arm and face, but she did not need medics. 12:39 p.m. - A member of the Oregon National Guard reported the theft of a government-issued assault bag and gear and other items from his vehicle on Southeast Court Avenue. 5:30 p.m. - A Milton-Freewater woman told police someone hit her vehicle with a rock while she was in the area of North Columbia and Eastside Connect streets. 10:30 p.m. - A caller reported the theft of her 1998 blue Honda Civic from apartments on Third Street, Umatilla. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Saturday •Oregon State Police cited Daniel Kris Crandall, 54, of Umatilla, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. His blood alcohol level was .19 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent. Sunday •Umatilla tribal police arrested Audra Marcell Reuben, 31, and Lowell Arnold Pierre, 40, both of Pendleton, for dangerous drugs, and criminal activity in drugs. (Ed 541-207-2548) William Arthur ‘Bill’ Tatum Irrigon October 26, 1953-November 30, 2016 Kent, Ore. February 17, 1954-December 2, 2016 Ronald E. Fisher of Irrigon, Oregon, was born on October 26, 1953, in Camp Pendleton, California, to parents David King Fisher and Blanche Marie VanAuken Fisher. He died on November 30, 2016, in Herm- iston, Oregon, at the age of 63 years. Ron was raised and attended school in Stanfield, Oregon. He started working on area farms at the age of 11, moving irriga- tion and working his way up to being in charge of Fisher the crew to make sure the job was completed. Ron joined the United States Army in and served for 18 months in Vietnam and several years in Germany. While in Germany he married Beata and they had a son, Johan, and daughter, Beata. Ron’s wife and daughter were both killed in an automobile accident. He was honorably discharged in 1985 and returned to Stanfield, Oregon. He moved to Portland, Oregon for work before returning to the Hermiston area in 2001. Ron was united in marriage to Roseann Rood on January 19, 2002 in Hermiston, Oregon. He went to work at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in 2003, where he worked until he retired in 2013. Ron loved to fish, hunt, travel and ride motorcycles. He cherished time with his family and friends. Ron could tell a story like nobody else, and enjoyed doing it. He is survived by his loving wife Rosie Fisher, Irrigon, Ore.; sons Johan Fisher, Frankfurt, Germany, David K. Fisher, Aberdeen, Wash., Neil Fisher, Springfield, Va., and Daniel Fisher and Jeannie, Portland, Ore.; daughters Dorothy Fisher, Portland, Ore., Rosie Meyers and Brad, Hermiston, Ore., Kalinn Prouty and Bart, Irrigon, Ore., Sylvia Virgen, Hermiston, Ore., Lucia Abel and Jason, Birch Bay, Wash.; Eliann Nguyen, Spring- field, Va.; sisters Sandra Tisdale, Debbie Higgin- botham, Rita Rayner and Twylia Wickersham; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Beata and daughter Beata; granddaughter Angelica Fisher; and his two brothers Marlin Fisher and David Fisher. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Burns Mortuary chapel, Herm- iston, Oregon. He was 62. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Grass Valley, Ore. Bill was born Feb. 17, 1954, in The Dalles to Robert and Geral- dine Tatum and was raised on his family’s farm in Kent, Ore. He was the youngest of three children with a brother, Jim, and sister, Bonnie. Tatum He graduated from Sherman High School in Moro, Blue Moun- tain Community College in Pendleton and Oregon State University in Corvallis before returning to the Kent homestead where he farmed the land for 38 years until his death. In 1981 he married Laurie Leff, from Moro, the love of his life, longtime educator and farming partner. Together they raised a son, Ryan, and daughter, Marci, who grew up farming alongside their parents. One of Bill’s greatest joys was watching his chil- dren play youth and high school sports. Bill loved living in Sherman County and the close friends he had there, but he knew his eternal home was in Heaven and shared his life, laughter and faith with everyone he met. Grocery store clerks, mechanics, strangers in line at the movie theater and anyone else who found themselves in Bill’s company for even a short time were drawn into conversation with him. He kept no secrets and didn’t believe others should, either, but instead cultivated inside jokes and shared experiences. He spoke plainly, shared generously and lived humbly. Bill was a deacon and worship leader at Kent Baptist Church but his ministry stretched much wider and his love for Jesus Christ was evident in his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and brother, Jim. He is survived by his mother Geraldine, of The Dalles; wife Laurie, of Kent; sister and broth- er-in-law Bonnie and Bill Shupe, of The Dalles; son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Jessica Tatum, and their children Mackenzie, Kyle, Brevan, Elena, Amelia, William and Tia, of Caldwell, Idaho; and daughter and son-in-law Marci and Daniel Wattenburger, and their children Anna and Nolan, of Hermiston.
