Eisele was born on March 17, 1950, in Pendleton, Oregon, to parents Gordon and Elvira Schindele Eisele. He died on August 9, 2016, at his home in Umatilla, Oregon, at the age of 66 years. Bruce was raised and attended schools in Umatilla, Oregon. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Bruce was Eisele assigned to the USS Hornet as a ¿UHPDQ ZKHQ WKH\ UHFRY- ered the astronauts from the Apollo 11 mission in the ocean. After his honor- able discharge he returned to Umatilla, Oregon where he has lived since. He has worked as a heavy equipment operator for Jones Scott/Umatilla Redi Mix for many years. Bruce enjoyed rock collecting, gemology, cars, mechanic-ing, history, watching westerns and Antiques Road Show, and loved animals. He is survived by his mother, Elvira Eisele, Umatilla, Ore.; sister Yvonne Terjeson and her husband Jerry, Helix, Ore.; niece Christena Krieger and her husband Travis, Aloha, Ore.; nephew Thomas vTerjeson and his wife Coree, Helix, Ore.; great-nieces Seraphine and Mazee; great- nephew Jens; and Penny Dog. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Eisele, and his brother, Albert Eisele. In addition to members of the city council and staff, the committee includes represen- tatives from the Round-Up Association, the arts community, the Pendleton Chamber of Commerce, the Umatilla County Board of Commissioners, Blue Mountain Community College, local businesses, Round-Up Development Corp. and St. Anthony Hospital. Turner expects the committee to meet once or twice and devise a list of 10-11 priorities for the next two years. Turner and the committee will spend the ensuing months presenting the priority list to community organizations like Altrusa and Pendleton Rotary Club and the general public. He plans to use the input at the meetings to cull the list to three or four priorities to be adopted by the council in January.
