Page 6A COMMUNITY East Oregonian PENDLETON ATHENA Motorcycle ilms highlight Hodaka Days East Oregonian Award-winning ilmmaker Peter Starr will present a personal screening of three licks during this weekend’s Hodaka Days. The movies, which include “The Making of Bad Rock,” which was shot in Weston, “The Making of Take it to the Limit” and “Bol Dor – 24 Hours of Lemans,” will be shown free of charge Friday from 8-9:30 p.m. at the Long Branch Cafe in Weston. Although it’s been 52 years since Hodaka trail bikes and motorcycles were manufactured in Athena, hundreds of enthusiasts will make their way to Eastern Oregon for the June 23-26 celebration. Athena City Park serves as celebration central, but activities are held in Athena and Weston. The fun kicks off Thursday from 2-4 p.m. with the Umatilla County TT and Poker Run. The 50-mile ride features back roads of Eastern Oregon. It starts at Suzie’s Handi Mart in Weston. The parade is hosted by the Pendleton VFW Let’er Buck Post 922. Before the parade starts, VFW members will pass out free small American lags along the parade route, as long as supplies last. The judging and announcing stand will be located on Main Street adjacent to Hamley’s Park. Parade trophies will be handed out at Hamley’s Park at noon.
