He said he was tired of the harassment and false allegations and asked for options on dealing with the situation. •A Pilot Rock woman at 1:19 p.m. reported she received WH[WPHVVDJHVDQGSKRQHFDOOVIURPDVLJQL¿FDQWRWKHURID woman police already warned for harassment. •A Hermiston-area man at 2:39 p.m. reported he took his property and left his residence on South Edwards Road after he argued with this girlfriend about her using drugs while she is pregnant. •Pendleton police at 7:29 p.m. received a report that a boy threatened to beat and rape a 14-year-old girl. •An Athena resident at 7:58 p.m. reported a man she KDVDUHVWUDLQLQJRUGHUDJDLQVWLVWU\LQJWR¿QGKHUWKURXJK her family members, which is a violation of the order. •Hermiston police are looking for a guy who got away. WEDNESDAY •A caller at 12:29 a.m. reported a driver of a Toyota Camry “was expressing road rage” while heading into 8PDWLOODIURPZHVWERXQG,QWHUVWDWH7KHGULYHUÀDVKHG headlights and drove in front of the caller and then slammed on brakes. •A city of Umatilla resident at 5:24 a.m. reported he returned to his home on Second Street and found someone stole his TV, valuables and other items. He said the doors were closed and locked but the windows were open. He passed away January 3, 2015, in Hermiston, Oregon, at the age of 94. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Alice Myrl Turner, of Union, Oregon, on December 24, 1943, at Lewiston, Idaho. He was preceded in death by Alice, his wife of 67 years on March 29, 2011; Eft son Clyde Allen Eft; grandson Jack Lee Springer; and sisters Katherine, Charlotte and Maryann. He is survived by daugh- ters and sons-in-law Donna J. and Ron Burris of Cove, Ore., Ann M. and Stan Bird of Canyon City, Ore., Mary K. and Ralph Hernandez of 6WDQ¿HOG2UHDQG6KLUOH\( Martin and Kurt Gaunt, also RI 6WDQ¿HOG 2UH 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grand- children; six great-great-grand- children; and many nieces and nephews. In 1968 Bob was hired as an instructor at Blue Moun- tain Community College (BMCC) in Pend- leton, Oregon. He was later appointed Dean of Instruction. Bob worked as dean until his retirement in 1987. Bob was an active member of the Al Kader Shriners, Heppner Elk’s Lodge, and a life member of the Masons. Bob’s wife Marylou passed away in 1980. He married Starla Jewell in 1986. The couple lived in northern Virginia for many years before retiring to Mesquite in 2005. Bob enjoyed the weather and golf courses. He continued his lifelong interest in business and economics as well as history. He was a world traveler and loved nothing better than a trip to a new country and learning about the history and geology of WKH DUHD DQG DQ\ JRO¿QJ opportunities. He is survived by his wife Starla, his daughters Luanne Hurl (Jim) and Shannon Kelly, three stepchildren, four grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was born July 26, 1922, in San Diego, Cali- fornia, to Albert Clayton Kelly and Meta Andersen Kelly. The family moved to Daven- port, Iowa, in 1927 where Bob graduated from Daven- port High School. Following high school, Bob graduated from the California Mari- time Academy. He was commissioned as an Ensign USNR and as an ensign in the U.S. Maritime Service. He retired from the Naval Reserves in 1967 as lieutenant commander. In 1955, Bob graduated from the University of Washington with an MBA.
