Dispatchers advised the Oregon Department of Transportation. •A Pendleton-area man on Southwest Gateway Avenue spread manure across the roadway he owns, but that caused ³LVVXHV´IRU¿YHSHRSOHZKRVKDUHWKHHJUHVVWRWKHURDGZD\ A caller reported the problem at 8:47 a.m. and told the Umatilla &RXQW\6KHULII¶V2I¿FHWKHSURSHUW\RZQHUQHHGVWRFOHDQXS the mess. •A caller at 11:36 a.m. reported the theft of a car-hauler type WUDLOHUEHORQJLQJWRWKH6WDQ¿HOG,UULJDWLRQ'LVWULFWIURP(DVW &RH$YHQXHDQG6RXWK(GZDUGV5RDG6WDQ¿HOG •The owner of a small recreational vehicle kept two dogs in a cage inside the vehicle at the Pilot RV Park, 2125 Highway 6RXWK6WDQ¿HOG$FDOOHUUHSRUWHGWKHSUREOHPDWSP and said there was no air conditioning to cool the interior. •A man in Pendleton gave a car ride to another man, then called police at 1:31 p.m. when he noticed his wallet was gone. He reported he was at the Sinclair service station at 313 S.E. Nye Ave., and if the rider did not take the wallet, which had FDVKFUHGLWFDUGVDQGKLVLGHQWL¿FDWLRQWKHQLWPD\KDYH IDOOHQIURPWKHWRSRIKLVFDUEXWKHFRXOGQRW¿QGLW 6WDQ¿HOGSROLFHDWSPFKHFNHGRQSHRSOHDW&HQWHU 0DUNHW6WDQ¿HOGEHFDXVHWKH\ZHUHVXEMHFWVRIDWUDI¿FVWRS for driving while suspended, dumping garbage and exchanging cars. •A Umatilla resident at 2:40 p.m. told police her neighbor on D Street has been hooked up to and using her television cable for the last week. •A caller at 2:54 p.m. told Umatilla police they were sleeping in their van at about 9 a.m. at the Crossroads Truck Stop, 2020 Highway 730, Umatilla, when someone crawled underneath and punctured the gas tank. •A mother of a Umatilla elementary school student at 4 p.m. told police someone stole a painting from her son when he took it to school. •An Irrigon resident at 6:28 p.m. asked the Morrow County 6KHULII¶V2I¿FHDERXWSDUNLQJLQIRUPDWLRQIRUIDUPWUXFNV7KH caller said the driver of a “spud truck” parks the vehicle on Washington Lane but lives some blocks away on Kangaroo Court. And because this driver does it, the caller said, others are as well. •A caller at 6:38 p.m. told Pendleton police eight middle school students were smoking at Roy Raley Park near the Pendleton Round-Up Grounds. 7KH8PDWLOOD&RXQW\6KHULII¶V2I¿FHDWSPUHFHLYHGD report that a male knocked out a female at Warehouse Beach near Umatilla, but she then regained consciousness. •A Meacham resident at 8:12 p.m. asked for a Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy to deal with his aggressive broth- er-in-law and an escalating situation. The caller said they were in a dispute over custody of a disabled family member, and the brother-in-law threatened him, and he threatened to shoot the brother-in-law if he did not back off. There were no reports of anyone shooting or of any arrests. •A Hermiston-area woman at 8:38 p.m. reported the theft of two purses, four cellphone chargers and one cellphone from her residence on Bowdin Lane. Hascall is one of more than 1,900 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad for the 2015-16 academic year through the program. Recipients of Fulbright grants Hascall are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement as well as demonstrated lead- ership potential. The son of Craig and Debra Hascall of Pilot Rock, Hascall is a 2005 graduate of Pilot Rock High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Portland State University in East Asian international studies, and a master’s degree from PSU in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). He also served with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, and was honorably discharged in 2013 with the rank of sergeant. Hascall will live in South Korea for 13 months, July 2015 through August 2016, and teach high school English classes. Oregon Institute of Technology KLAMATH FALLS — Oregon Institute of Technology will celebrate its 67th annual commencement Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the Klamath Falls campus. The Class of 2015 includes 711 individuals who have completed degree require- ments during the 2014-15 academic year. Among the students earning degrees were Megan Cook and Renee Baumann, both of Pendleton. Cook received a degree in diag- nostic medical sonography. Baumann earned a degree in biology-health sciences.
