Anyone is welcome to enter the contest. There’s no entry fee to compete. Contes- tants are invited to bring their pot of chili, provide a brief description and a name for the concoction. The top three entries, as determined by tasters attending the event, will get prizes. Cooks and their chili should arrive Friday, Feb. 6 by 6 p.m. in the commons at Umatilla High School, 1460 Seventh St. The contest heats up at 6:30 p.m. as people ar- rive and pay a tasting fee of $3. “You can eat as much chili as you want and then vote for your favorite chili,” said Cathy Putnam, who is coordinating the Lions Club fundraiser. The event also includes a dessert auction. Putnam said PENDLETON — Bring a hearty appetite and help raise money for the Pendleton Elks Scholarship Program. An all-you-can-eat Seafood Feast is planned Saturday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. at 14 S.E. Third St., Pendleton. The menu includes oyster stew, sausage, shrimp, steamer clams, corn, gourmet potatoes and bread. The cost is $30 per person.
