An eight pound son was born to Mr. and Mr. A. M. Bond, "Wednesday April 9, lp Pullman, Washington, at the home of Mrs. Bond's parents, Dr and Mrs. J. 1 Gtlleland. A basket ball fame was played Saturday between the lacal high school team and District No. 77, the home team being defeated by a score of 15 to 19. Another game is scheduled for Friday of nxet week with the same school and will be played on the public school grounds her. The game of last week was played at District No. 77. The baseball game here Sunday afternoon against Helix resulted in a voctory for Pilot Rock with a score of 15 to Hi Mrs. J. W. Etter left last week for Lind, Wash., to visit at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Campbell. Sybil Grace Macomber entertained a number of little friends Wednesday afternoon in honor of her fourth birth day. M, Schannep Is moving Into the house where Elbert Casteel has been living Mr. Casteel Is moving Into Newt Roarks property on Bluff street and Mr. Roark Is moving Into the property vacated by the Schannep family, which he purchased several months ago. Frank E. Manning a representative of the Red Cross was here. Monday from Portland looking after the em ployment of returned soldiers. He states that conditions here are much better than in many other , places where returned soldiers refuse to work. Mr. and Mrs. Blckford went to Pine Grove Tuesday morning. . A party of over twenty men came out from Hermiston and started the drive at the Minnehaha Springs and drove the rabbits to. the big bend In the Umatilla river. It la estimated between three hundred and four hundred rabbits were killed. Mrs C. M. Jackson, accompalned by her baby son Is home after a two months stay in Pendleton. Arrangements have been made whereby the Ladles' Aid of the Presbyterian church will serve lunches cafeteria style on that day to visitors During the past week the baseball team of the Vincent high has won fresh laurels for themselves. On Fri day they defeated the Ferndale team on the local diamond, the final score being 20 to and on Saturday the Vin cent boys Journeyed to Milton and once again won out, the score read ing 12 to E.
