U. convention the sh'pments of li quor to Wasco Co. for the first six months of 1918 amounted to 690 gal lons whereas for the same period In 1915 the liquor shipments were 13,-t60. Ilreaks Leff Rushing; Film, In an effort to rush a film from Baker to Pendleton In tlmn for the evening show at the Temple last night a young man of Baker, nao,e un known here, suffered a broken leg. Manager Pefferle of the Baker play house had failed to get the film aboard the last train to Pendleton and had offered a young motorcyclist 115 If he would get the film here by 1 o'clock In the evening. He left Baker at 2 but, as he wa? passing through La Grande, his motorcycle skidded and he sustained a broken leg. The Temple was forced then to substitute one of the films held In re serve.
