Rwmhorg Funeral Held. At 10 o'clock this morning In th Folsom chapel, the funeral of John Kosf-nberg, local jeweler, who died yesterday morning, was held. Rev. Charles Quinney of the Church of the Redeemed, preached the funeral ser mon. Sill of the Sill Motion Picture Co.. of Portland, who secured the ex clusive privilege of filming the 191& Round-up exhibition, has arrived In the city. He brought with him three cameras and camera men and plar.s to get the very best possible pictures. There was more demand for the mo tion picture concession this year than for several years, owing to the great success which attended the exhibition of the 1914 films in the east last year. The public library will open at 9 o'clock, one hour earlier In the fore noon during Round-up for the con venience of visitors In the city, and will open the regular evening hours from seven to nine. Fire Ins. Co. Sued. S. C. Snyder and wife yesterday af ternoon filed suit against rfhe Spring field Fire & Marine Insurance Co. for Judgment for $1100, alleged to be due on a policy held with the company. Plaintiffs alleged they suffered a loss of $1852.45 from a fire which destroy ed the property insured. Raley & Raley are attorneys for the plaintiff. Contestants Draw Tonight. The contestants who are to take part In the Round-up will draw for positions and mounts this evening at 7:30 In the accommodation headquar ters in the East Oregonian building. To this drawing the cowboys attach much importance as a good rider has ! little opportunity to demonstrate his i atunties unless he gets a hard buck er. Will Take tn the Round-up. Governor Alexander of Idaho and party will arrive here from Boise at 3 15 tomorrow morning en route to San Francisco to attend the exposi tion. At least one member of the party, State Senator B. W. Bowmac, win stop off to attend the Round-up tomorrow. Senator Bowman Is a brother of S. F. Bowman of the local postoffice force and will visit him whlie here. I When Frank Cannon, the boy who ! stole J. T. Lambirth's canoe and j paddled it as far as the Furnish dam I on an intended trip to Portland, was j brought back to Pendleton, he prov i ed to be the same boy who recently stole a saddle horse at Granite and for whom Sheriff Welch of that city had been looking. His home Is In the .Mllton-Freewater section and Deputy Sheriff West of Milton rec ognized him this morning. The boy is only 12 years old. I.. U. Stinson Is Here. L. R. Mr. Stinson is en route back to Salem after having visited as far east aa Huntington. The grand lodge Knights of Pythias meets in Portland October 12 and the Pendleton representatives will be Sam Paine, holdover; I. E. Young. C. P. Strain, H. M. Elder and Rev. J. E. Kldd yesterday won a verdict in the cases he had against Frank Michael and Charles Michael which were tried together In the circuit court. The Jury went out last eve ning and returned seated verdicts Plaintiff was given a verdict of $156.50 against Frank Michael and one for $97.50 against Charles Mi chael. He sued for pasturage and defendants entered counter claims for animals alleged to have been lest. Osmer E. Smith and J. Roy Ra. ley were attorneys for the plaintiff. Frirsot to Pay Taxi Driver. W. H. Brazell wag one of the num ber of colored gentlemen who travel ed about the city In a taxi-cab yes terday afternoon. They were "real sports" until It came to paying the driver, when they balked. The driver bucked and as a result Mr .Brazell was taken Into custody by the police. Judge Fitz Gerald is now consider ing the penalty which should be Im posed. There were some eight or ten drunks In court this morning also. VAUMVILLE Ex-County Judge Pies. H. f. Yoakum, former county judge of Umatilla county and one of the residents In the early days of the or iginal Happy Canyon, died last Thurs day In Meadows, Idaho, according to word received here by J. M. Rentley. Ex-Judge Yoakum was about 90 years old at his death. The funeral was held Sunday. All old-timers will re member the deceased an he was one of the best known pioneers of the county. The station of Yoakum near which was the original Happy Can yon, was named for him. He was on uncle of Col. Rentlev'g late wife of Mrs. Thomas Hopper end of John and William Baker of this city.
