In our campaign for this measure, have been found to be, first, that such a variety it Ideas would tend to obstruct leg islation (a God-send were it so), and the second, that logrolling would t-ortjc through each faction agreeing with the other to get their measures thrcugh. It Is plain to be seen that thee objections contradict each oth er, as both objectors claim opposite results from the same cause. Their argument is therefore not worth con sidering. If men and women who receive the yixty highest votes over the entire jUte are to represent the people It w quite certain that better legislators and better legislation will follow.
