BAKER,- Ore.. May 21. Eaker won from Pendleton 4 to J yesterday on a questionable decision by Umpire Koy Beck who called McKeen out at the plate in the ninth when he surely looked safe. Fulwlder deserved to win more easily than he did. He pitched, a five hit game and with a little bet ter backstopplng would have blanked the visitors. Baker got to Shroeder early and scored in the first, two more in the third on clean hitting and another in the fourth on three hits, one a two bagger.' Shroeder tightened then but It was too late. The Bucks scored In the third on passed ball, walk and Varlan'a double. In the, eighth they made another on a walk, error and putout and in the ninth Peterson trip led and 'scored, after McKeen had walked, on a double steal.. Coen then walked after Briggs had sacrificed and again the double steal was tried. It looked as though McKeen was safe by a mile but Beck didn't see It that way. A teacher In a Liverpool school was trying to find from a tiny child the name of his father. He seemed quite unable to think of it, so to help that she asked: "What do you call him?" "I call him father," was the reply "Well, what does your mother call him?" The response was eloquent of the manners of the neighborhood. "She doesn't call him anything. She likes him."
