Mrs Walker was formerly Miss Agnes Bullfinch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Bullfinch. A Case of Measles. Thelma Thompson, the little daueh. ter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson, is confined to her home on Smith Main streek with an atack of the measles. According to Dr. C. J. Smith, who is attending the case, this is the first measles patient reported In two weeks. Will Close Also. By an unfortunate error, the names of Max Baer, F. E. Llvengood, and the Boston Store were omitted in the list of Institutions who will close their doors on the Mondays follow ing Christmas and New Tears. Kull that Is, gathered at the train this morning when the newly married couple left on their honeymoon trip and gave them a liberal shower of rice. The bride was formerly proprietor of the millinery department of the Peoples Warehouse. Handed a Big Lemon. J. S. Keys, district manager of the Bankers' Reserve Life Insurance company, is displaying a giant lemon which was sent to him from Houston, Texas, by Mrs. J. E. Miller, his mother-in-law. It is as large as a young pumpkin and would make enough lemonade for a score of people. Mrs. Miller also sent a box of persimmons which grow wild in the southern stales. Norton to fore close a lien which the plaintiffs have "n the grain of the defendant. In the complaint it is alleged that the plairttiffs did harvesting work for the defendant to the amount of $350 and falling to collect that amount or any part thereof filed a lien on the lat-tc-r's grain. It has been two years since the city lias been invaded by college warblers and their appearance tonight will be right wel come. The curtain will be held until 9 o'clock on the request of the mer chants whose clerks are desirous of attending the concert, Several of the glee boys are known In Pendleton. Glen Storie, son ot. Mr and Mrs. W. A. Storie, is a prominent member of the tenor section and takes a leading part in the closing sketch. Tom Burke, leader of tne club, Is a brother of Hairy Burke, formerly connected with the East Oregonlan, and has many frlendi in tne city. Burns Powell, leader or the hungry four quartet, has been in Pendleton several times with MeElroys band, with which organization he plays each summer. Lloyd Barzee, a member of the bass section, visited with Prin cipal A. C. Hampton and Harold Warner last fall and made many friends here. Alumni of the University or Oregon in the city are planning to welcome the boys cordially. They will fill the boxes at the theater anft will inter sperse a few college yells between the numbers on the program. After the concert, the visiting collegians will be entertained at the various homes in the city. R. W. Fletcher, circulation mana ger of the East Oregonlan, left on the local this morning for the west end of the county, where he is spending the day in connection with his depart ment of the paper. The gift season is already on In earnest at the local postofflce where, during the greatr part of the day there has been a jam of people about the registry and stamp windows, all ' waiting to buy stamps or mall parcels, which for the most part had a Santa Claufiian appearance. Yesterday was also a good day in the money order department, the sales being as heavy as those of any day for several weeks. Although there Is a considerable In crease of work In tho office, the force of clerks is taking care of the parcels as fast as they come. Sim to Collect Notes. Two suits have been instituted In the circuit court for the collection of money due on notes given. The first was , filed by Attorney James A. Fee for E. L. Smith against A. O. McCarty a?k!ng judgment for a balance of $1308.10 on an original note for IS,. 077.70 with Interest, $150 attorney fes and disbursements. The second was filed by Lowell and Winter for the Commercial National bank of Fargo, N. D., against J. L. Coleman and F. E. Ball and asked for judgment against .the defendants for $1325 and Interest due on a note. The note was given by Coleman but was endorsed later by Ball. Attorney J. P. Neal of Freewater, will arrive on the Spokane train this evening to attend the concert of the Oregon Glee club this evening at the Oregon theater.
