The evening sermon on "Christ as the Perfect Man," by E. V. Zollars was one that will long be remembered. On Thursday morning Prof. Wig- It Is more delivered a splendid sermon on "The Christ." After this President Zollurs again inspired his hearers with another grand address. In the afternoon A. K. Clark of the i "Clark Family Evangelistic Team," delivered a sermon on the missionary I spirit. His text was the words "Go ! Ye." We then listened to another of ! Prof. Sutton's unparalleled addresses on "Missions." The afternoon pro gram closed with a paper read by Albyn Esson of Sllverton on "The Idle Minister and the Vacant Pulpit." Secretary Williamson of the state horticultural commission says Oregon will have a bumper apple crop this year. Apples were about the only fruit not seriously affected by the cold weather which prevailed In the fruit raising districts of the state this spring. This fruit ls hardier than others and thrives under conditions that kill the growtlrM)f nearly every other kind. The pear crop Is only two-thirds of what it normally is.
