Idaho, gives the following Interesting article relative to the project of Install ing a 20-mlle flume along the Lolo creek. "Information reached Kamlah this week that surveyors are now engag ed in running the preliminary survey for the mammoth flume up Lolo creek for a distance of 20 miles. This project has been worked upon for nearly a year and it is reported that the financial end has been arranged for. It will require a large amount of money to carry the project through and when it Is once started will be of untold benefit to Kamlah and the ridges on the east side ofthe river. At a meeting of the governing board of the Commercial club tonight the matter of securing a direct train service from Seattle over the Northern Pacific when the new river line Is placed In commission will receive at tention, says the Lewlston Tribune. Several months ago, upon the visit here of the Seattle business men, they gave assurance that so soon as new railroad service was Inaugurated out of Lewiston down the Snake river they would take up the subject with the Northern Pacific of securing a di rect service between Lewiston and Seattle. Yesterday Smith stopped off In San Franelsro to renew old acquaintances, and accidentally ran ncross Reardon on the street. Wallace Press: Plans In connection with the proposed purchase by the city of a paving plant of Its own, and paving the whole city, were discussed last night at the city council meeting. While the opinion of all was not given on the matter, several declared them selves In favor. They claimed that by purchasing a plant all the streets could be paved for what It would cost to have only a part of them. By owning Its own paving plant which can be se cured for about $10,000, and paying the bltullthlc company 75 cents per square yard for the bltullthlc cement and technical services of an expert on paving, the city could pave the streets at a minimum cost and the contrac- "Old Rones."
