Lundy of Kennewlck was In the Express office one day last week and in speaking of the fast passenger boat that Is now being built at Seat tle for tho up-river trade, Says the Pasco Express. Mr. Lundy gave out that the boat would be a 180 horse power gasoline, 12 feet wide and 80 feet long, and that 7t passengers and baggage could be comfortably accom modate!, besides the mall and the ex press which It contemplates carrying. Tho boat, which will be known as "The Kennewlck," fs guaranteed to make . 16 miles an hour up stream, making it the fastest, by far., of any boat on the run, and where two day are now consumed by the freighters this little craft will make it in a day. The Kennewlck will travel from Seattle to Kennewlck by Its own pow er, making the ocean trip alone from Seattle to Astoria, and from there to Celllo falls, where it will be taken over the portage and from Celllo make the home run to Kennewlck mission by the first of June. Natclicw a "RiHHlc City." Yesterday was clean-up day at Natches City, says the Yakima Re public. All day long thirty men and eleven men with teams worked on Nutches avenue. The street was freed from rocks and graded thoroughly. The residence district was raked and trash burned. Men, women and school children contributed their ef forts from early morning until late Inst evening. Today the city appear ance is greatly improved and the lit tle village which comprises some of tho most energetic and public spirited men and women of the Yakima val ley, resembles the fabled "spotless town." The report of the secretary of the Southern Idaho Sunday School asso ciation shows 216 Sunday schools In southern Idaho, with 1,922 officers and teachers, 13,968 scholars and an average attendance of 10,886, says the Boise Capital News. Canyon county leads with fifty-one schools and 478 teachers and officers and 3,609 scholars with an average attendance of 2,553. Ada county comes next with thirty- nine schools, 480 teachers and off! cers, 4.057 scholars, with an average attendance of 3,773, beating Canyon county In everything but the number of schools. Custer county has but two Sunday schools with twenty-two teachers and officers and a membership of 100 and an average attendance of 80. Bear Lake county has the same num ber of schools with fifteen teachers and officers, and an average atten dance of 68. Human Filters. He broke Into the Corner saloon a few evenings ago and stole money from" the cash register, amounting to $10. He was placed under arrest and taken to Pendle ton. Potatoes are now being delivered In Athena at the rate of three car loads per day. They will be shipped over the Northern Pacific to Seattle and other points. Weston Mountain potatoes are about all contracted for now. E. F. Zimmerman, field worker for the Oregon Anti-Saloon league will deliver an address at the M. E. church In this city on the evening ot May 14. Fred Gross left yesterday for Al berta where he will ioor over the country and look after his father's Interests there. Over twenty conversions have been made at the M. E. church since the revival meetings commenced. Rev. Carradine Is a very forceful speaker, and much Interest continues to be shown In the meetings. A social dance was held at the opera house last evening and was enjoyed by n large number of peo ple. There was a dance at Adams also, which was attended by a num ber of the young people from here.
