Nash as principal, Miss Humphrey has been re-elected as primary teach er, and Miss Alta Spauldlng has been engaged for the intermediate room, which will be added to the school the next term. The people of this section are inter ested in the coming of the demonstra tlon train which will be in Pilot Rock for an hour on Wednesday, May 13. The people of Pilot Rock are pleased to know that Dr. Fred LleU' alien will be a resident of this place, having purchased the drug business of Dr. E. O. Parker, and he will also practice medicine here. The first large sheep transaction reported this season was that made by H. H. Boylen, who purchased 2400 head from the Knotts Brothers, of East Birch creek. Nearly all' the South American states have sent representatives, who are attempting to bring about the ab rogation of the present code system, substituting therefore the old rule limiting messages to words convey ing their full Import, and taken from seven European languages. In this case the smaller republics will not get the backing of their big neighbors.
