Culdeaac branch line. The rock l tuken from a point about five mllet above Kendrlck and It ia estimated that It will take the crew about three weeks yet to complete the work. It la estimated that about 1000 carloads of rock have been hauled through here for this work, which will put the roadbed on the hill between Troy and Kendrlck In the best condition It has been since the road was built and the opening up of the rock quarries along the line has furnished fine bal last and riprap material, which la be ing used quite freely. The company has built new coal bunkers here and repaired their side tracks and still continues to work extra engines on the hill for the Clearwater business. which reaches a large volume annu ally. A N. right of way agent, says that the company will be gin laying rails on the Arlington- Condon railroad the first of next month. Condon Is having a boom on account of the new road. The new Gilliam County bank will be ready for business in about six days. Its capi talised stock will be 150,000. New arc lights have been put in on the main street of the town, which Is soon have a telephone system also.
