The people are vigorously adopting and putting into effect the policy of tak ing into their own hands the solution of the irrigation problems offered them. All have unbounded faith, and capital enough to make the desert blossom as the rose. Dr. J. Christie, who has been In this city for several years In the prac tice of the veterinary profession, has sold out to Dr. T. J. Lloyd, and leaves tonight for Portland, where he will reside permanently. Dr. Christie has been deputy stock inspector for the state veterinarian. In Umatilla county, and is a member of the state veterinarian board. His successor as inspector baa not yet been named.
