been such an abundant supply of flsh
and game, as there Is this winter, and
at reasonable prices, for an Inland
town. Wild geese are quoted at 65
cents, rabbits at 25 and 35 cents,
fresh shrimps at 20 cents per pound,
and salt water crabs at 25 and 35
cents. Ranch eggs are quoted at 35
and 40 cents today, with very few In
the market. Butter from the farm
Is also a scarce article, and Is quoted
at 50 and 60 cents. FTcsh oysters
and fish are also In evidence, at prices
varying with the kind, and amount.

Inspecting the big tract of land segre
gated under the Caiey act and sought
to be reclaimed by tho ditch of the
American Palls company on tho west
side of Snake river. Tho latter
company claims that the canal has
already cost $350,000 and that the
total will bo over $700,000.
t As not over 40,000 acres of tho en
tire tract can be sold, tho proposition
at tne precent price of $15 an aero Is
a losing one and they ask the state
for permission to raise tho price to
$20 and $25 per acre.
As most of this land is being sold
to settlers of other states tho peoplo
of Idaho have but llttlo Interest in
the proposed raise, ..roiigh this
part of the state considerable Inter
est has been manifested and thero is
a strong desire to seo tho proposition
carried to a speedy fruition. A re
